I’ve let the latest episode of The Office absorb into every fiber of my being. The following are my predictions on the rest of the season. Take them for what they are… predictions from someone who is always wrong. A lot of these predictions are based on the fact that someone is leaving the show.. to go to The Office spin-off airing after the Super Bowl.
Some spoilers follow? I guess.
As for Jim and Pam, there are 3 likely scenarios:
- Jim proposes. Pam accepts. Boom. America is happy.
- Jim proposes. Pam says it’s too early. Awkward moments after.. but the relationship is spared the worst.
- Jim proposes. Pam denies. They break up. Jim moves on to the spin-off.
It’s between 1 and 2. If Jim was denied, I highly doubt he’d give up all hope of marrying Pam. He’d been trying to get with her for at least 3 years.. I don’t think he’d throw all that away because of this. If I had to guess, I’d go with 2. Plus, if 3 did happen, I would become upset with infinite amounts of rage. As for 1, the writers HAVE to drag their relationship on a little longer. Quite honestly, a good bit of the appeal of this show was Jim’s (up until now) futile attempts at dating Pam. If they really got engaged.. only 10 episodes into the show.. it’s just too quick.
Having said that, I am on the side that thinks the fact that Jim got the ring a week after they started dating is not that crazy. He’s liked her.. since Season 1. They’ve been a very bad high school on again, off again relationship. It’s not pathetic. It’s PB&J. Nothing is pathetic…
Angela and Andy
2 likely scenarios
- Andy and Angela continue to date.. no real cliffhanger.. their awkward relationship continues.
- Andy does something insanely stupid. Angela dumps him. Andy quits and moves to the spin-off.
2 is most likely. I love Andy. But, out of all the regulars who appear on the show, I would be least upset if Andy left to do a spin-off.
Michael and Dwight
- Nothing changes.
- Dwight does something insanely stupid.. and Michael is forced to fire him from pressure by Ryan. Dwight moves to spin-off.
Too much revolves around the Dwight-Michael storyline. Moving Dwight to the spin-off would almost certainly spell disaster for the show. It’d be as if 30 Rock got rid of Kenneth.. House got rid of Wilson.. it’d be that epic of a change.
So who goes to the spin-off? In decreasing confidence, my guess is:
- Andy (Most likely to leave)
- Jim (It would suck.. but it’s certainly in the realm of possibility)
- Dwight (It’d be funny. But The Office would suffer)
- Pam (I love Pam)
- Michael (Please, Lucifer, no)
- Stanley (honestly, who’d watch this? It’d be like Tyler Perry’s House of Payne)
Whoo.
my gut tells me Jim is leaving.. with Pam.. there’s a shocker for you.
What about a Creed spinoff?!?!?! Eh? Think about it…
See, the only problem with a Creed spinoff is that it’s been said that a ‘cast regular’ will be leaving.. and Creed is not one of them.. at least I don’t think he is. However, a Creed spin-off would be hilarious and bizarre.
Didn’t the PR guy say he was leaving for Costa Rica or something a while ago? Could be him.
The spin off will be Jim and Pam in Philadelphia. Remember Philly Jim in Second Life? And Pam saying she wants more of Philly Jim in that episode? And then at the job fair, Pam learned that the good design schools are in New York and Philly? I see the two getting engaged, moving to Philly, and living together. (Pam doesn’t want to live with someone until she’s engaged!)
This prediction makes me sad because I like The Office with both of them, but I think I’m onto something here…
